<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knockdown shelf which is easy to assemble, which allows a position of an intermediate shelf member in the knockdown shelf having vertically a plurality of shelf members, to be changed with other shelf members unchanged, by disassembling and assembling of the intermediate shelf member only, and to provide a coupling member used for the knockdown shelf. <P>SOLUTION: The coupling member 1 is fitted in a column support 2 and supports one shelf member 31 within a 1/2 region in the radial direction of the coupling member 1 in the front view, and is composed of two members 1a, 1b in which one side is hinge-connected so that the other side is freely opened and closed, and the coupling member is fitted in a manner holding the column support 2 inside the two members. The outside shape of the coupling member 1 forms first tapers 16a, 16b having a shape gradually diametrically enlarged downwards in a state in which the coupling member is fit in the column support 2.
