Provided is a control device for an internal combustion engine, which can perform suitable injection quantity feedback control even when the fuel property changes. The control device is provided with an in-cylinder pressure sensor (16) for detecting the in-cylinder pressure. The in-cylinder fresh air quantity is calculated on the basis of the in-cylinder pressure detected by the in-cylinder pressure sensor (16) (100). The actual heat generation quantity is calculated on the basis of the in-cylinder pressure detected by the in-cylinder pressure sensor (16) (120). The target heat generation quantity at a predetermined excess air ratio is calculated from the calculated in-cylinder fresh air quantity (150). The comparison value between the calculated actual heat generation quantity and the target heat generation quantity is fed back to the fuel injection quantity such that the actual heat generation quantity and the target heat generation quantity match (160, 170). |
