The disclosed projection video display device can reproduce the original colors of a color video well even when projecting said video onto a colored screen, wall, or the like. Said projection video display device (200) is provided with a projection unit (10), which projects a video onto a screen via a lens, and an imaging unit (30) for imaging the screen. A screen rectangle detection unit (40) detects a screen rectangle in an image taken by the imaging unit (30). A screen color determination unit (60) determines the color of the screen from the area inside the detected screen rectangle. A color correction unit (70) performs color correction on the video such that the hues in the video, which assume a white screen, are reproduced on the colored screen. |
