Disclosed is a wastewater treatment device (1) provided with: anaerobic ammonium oxidation tanks (2, 4) which denitrify the ammonium and nitrite contained in water to be treated by means of anaerobic ammonium oxidation bacteria by being introduced with the water to be treated; and sludge returning paths (first returning pipes (32, 52) and second returning pipes (33, 34, 53, 54)) which return, to the anaerobic ammonium oxidation tanks (2, 4), sludge that is separated from the liquid phase in the anaerobic ammonium oxidation tanks (2, 4) and that contains the aforementioned anaerobic ammonium oxidation bacteria. The wastewater treatment device (1) is configured as a unit, and the anaerobic ammonium oxidation tanks (2, 4) may be detachable from the main body of the device (1).
