PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-permeable radiant heat reflector and a method for producing the same excellent in mechanical shock resistance, wear resistance, and shape holding property.

SOLUTION: The air-permeable radiant heat reflector 10 includes a pillar material formed by winding a band member 11 manufactured from an air-permeable fabric material formed of heat-resistant composite inorganic fiber or inorganic fiber, in the longitudinal direction and provided with a circular or polygonal cross section. When one surface side of the air-permeable radiant heat reflector 10 is heated, radiant heat is emitted from the one surface side while suppressing heat transfer from the one surface side to the other surface side.
