<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting method preventing a crack that occurs after the glass preform is cut after drawing in the boundary between a core and a clad composing a glass preform. <P>SOLUTION: The method for cutting the glass preform, to cut the glass preform 10 at a desired position while drawing it, includes: a heating process of heating the post-drawing glass preform 11, drawn by a drawing processing apparatus 1, by oxyhydrogen flame 3a of a heating means 3; and a cutting process of cutting the heated post-drawing glass preform 11 by a cutting means 4 consisting of cutting edges 5 which are provided on a tip side of two cutting axes 6 composed to be rotatable, respectively, and are composed to be in contact mutually. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
