PURPOSE: A medium discharge apparatus which includes an ascending/descending member for horizontal integration is provided to prevent damage in a medium due to a medium alignment member when aligning the medium while being touched to the ascending/descending member. CONSTITUTION: A load unit(10) loads a medium withdrawn from a medium cassette. A discharge unit(20) releases the medium loaded in the load unit to the outside. An alignment unit(40) arrays the medium between the load unit and discharge unit while transferring the medium loaded in the load unit to the discharge unit. The load unit and discharge unit are placed in the same plane.
