<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved charging system to which power is transferred via an input/output port path such as a universal serial bus path. <P>SOLUTION: An alternating current (AC)/direct current (DC) power converter may also include a connector having a pair of power supply contacts and a pair of data contacts. An electronic apparatus may also be connected to the connector of the power converter. The power converter may also supply DC power to the electronic apparatus using the power supply contacts. The power converter may also include a control circuit having a resistor connected over the data contacts. When the electronic apparatus and the power converter are interconnected, it may also be propagated to the other that a capability exceeding an industrial standard may be present in each. At the same time, a standard compliant discovery operation is carried out and a resistance value of the resistor connected over the data contacts may also be searched.
