PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device capable of deriving light by integrating the optical device with an optical waveguide for propagating light.

SOLUTION: An optical device includes a light derivation section (8) for deriving light from an optical waveguide (6) in a direction crossing an axial direction of the optical waveguide (6) for guiding light. The light derivation section (8) includes one or more waveguide holes (12) formed in a cladding section (10) covering the optical waveguide (6), and an optical waveguide member (14) that is disposed in the waveguide hole (12) and guides light from the optical waveguide (6). The optical waveguide member (14) is composed of light transmissive resin (44) or an optical fiber.
