<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device and an image forming apparatus having an electromagnetic induction heating system that suppresses an excessive temperature rise in a non-paper passage area and prevents the formation of local irregularity in the temperature distribution of a fixing belt. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device and an image forming apparatus comprise an electromagnetic induction coil 23; a fixing belt 22 which produces heat from a magnetic field generated by the electromagnetic induction coil 23; a heating control member which is arranged opposite to the electromagnetic induction coil 23 and made of a magnetic shunt metal material showing a non-magnetic characteristics at a prescribed temperature; and a magnetic flux control member 25 which is made of a nonmagnetic metal and cancels a magnetic flux transmitting through the fixing belt 22 and the heating control member. The heating control member is divided into long pieces 31_1 and 31_2 which are electrically insulated each other and arranged separately along the longitudinal direction of the electromagnetic induction coil 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
