<p>A motor controller (1) is provided with an inverter circuit (10), a smoothing capacitor (11), drive circuits (120-125) for power conversion, a power supply circuit (13) for power conversion, and drive circuits (140, 141) for discharge. The inverter circuit (10) is provided with switching circuits (100-102) comprising two IGBTs connected in series. The drive circuits (120-125) for power conversion drive the switching circuits (100-102) by applying an output voltage of the power supply circuit (13) for power conversion, and carry out power conversion. When the output voltage of the power supply circuit (13) for power conversion is equal to or less than a threshold value, the drive circuits (140, 141) for discharge synchronously turn on the IGBTs (100a, 100b) which make up the switching circuit (100), and the smoothing capacitor (11) discharges. Discharge performed by the smoothing capacitor during the power conversion operation can therefore be prevented.</p> |
