Disclosed is a light source device which is designed so as to suppress increases in size and which prevents dissolution of electrodes. The disclosed light source device (1) is provided with a discharge lamp (11) and an elliptical reflector (12) which reflects light discharged from said discharge lamp (11). The luminous point of the discharge lamp (11) is arranged at a first focus (F1) of the elliptical reflector (12), and an irradiation surface (13A) which irradiates reflected light is arranged at a second focus (F2) of the elliptical reflector (12). A color filter (15) is provided between said irradiation surface (13A) and the elliptical reflector (12), and the color filter (15) is configured so as to be slanted relative to the optical axis (X) of the elliptical reflector (12).
