<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately control an image density by enlarging a variable width for controlling the image density. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image carrier carrying an electrostatic latent image; developing means for developing the electrostatic latent image on the image carrier by a toner; an AC (Alternating Current) voltage output unit; a rectification smoothing unit for rectifying and smoothing an AC voltage output by the AC voltage output unit; and a DC (Direct Current) voltage generation unit for outputting a DC voltage from a voltage rectified by the rectification smoothing unit. The image forming apparatus comprises: a developing power unit 34 for outputting to the developing means a voltage generated by superimposing a DC voltage output from the DC voltage generation unit on AC voltage which is output from the AC voltage output unit; a CPU (computer) 401 for controlling the density of a toner image developed on the image carrier by controling a voltage applied to the developing means through the developing power unit 34; and a constant voltage element provided between the rectification smoothing unit and a ground potential. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
