<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for connecting a superconducting cable (1) to a normal conducting cable held at room temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The device includes a bushing (D) having a conductor (5) surrounded with a thermal insulation (6). A conductor (1) of the superconducting cable is connected to one end of the conductor (5) of the bushing (D), and the normal conducting cable may be connected to the other end. An electrode (4) used for electric field control is attached to an end of the superconducting cable (1) used for connection with the conductor (5) of the bushing (D). A cryostat surrounding the electrode (4) is provided at least within a range of the electrode (4). The cryostat is constituted as a cover which is made of an electric insulating material having a non-vacuum thermal insulation, and has a peripheral surface side closed. While an end of the cover of the cryostat on the side of the bushing (D) is placed at a high-voltage potential during the operation of the device, the other end of the cover is connected to a ground potential. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
