PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a bimetal from being overheated in a temperature protection element turned on and off using the bimetal and a PTC, and also reduce costs by reducing required parts.
SOLUTION: In this temperature protection element, a pair of terminals 11 are integrated with an insulation case 12, and a PTC 22 and a bimetal 25 are housed in the case. The bimetal is provided with a conductor 26 at its tip, and is connected and fixed to a second terminal 11-2 at its rear end. The PTC 22 is connected to the first and second terminals. To form a main circuit, the conductor 26 is openably/closably arranged at the tip of the bimetal to turning on and off connection of a contact point 17 of the first terminal 11-1 and a contact point 18 of the second terminal 11-2. Thereby, after the bimetal is actuated into an off condition, the PTC is arranged and connected between the first and second terminals for energization. Thus, the current flow is switched to an energization heating circuit to maintain the bimetal under the off condition.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
