PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a concentration of particulate matter in gas and an engine system equipped with an apparatus for measuring a concentration of particulate matter.

SOLUTION: An engine system 200A equipped with an apparatus for measuring a concentration of particulate matter comprises: a diesel engine 100; an exhaust pipe 202 which exhausts exhaust gas 201 coming from the diesel engine 100; and a particulate matter concentration measurement apparatus (hereinafter referred to as "concentration measurement apparatus") 10 which measures a concentration of particulate matter (PM), etc. in the exhaust gas 201 inside the exhaust pipe 202. During the operation of the diesel engine, the amount of PM actually exhausted in accordance with the changes in fuel injection pressure and supercharging pressure can be checked online by constantly measuring the accurate concentration of PM.
