The present invention relates to a dummy battery cell which has a housing (1), electrodes (2, 4) arranged within the housing (1), and terminals (3, 5) which are electrically conductively connected to the electrodes (2, 4), with the dummy battery cell being designed such that the housing (1) can hold an electrolyte, characterized in that, instead of an electrolyte, the dummy battery cell has a filler (9) which does not contain an electrolyte that is effective for that battery cell type. Furthermore, the invention relates to a battery, to a battery module and to a battery system which contains at least one such dummy battery cell.
