Disclosed is a screening method for substances having a maturation acceleration action on hemocytes. It is known that in the maturation process for red blood cells and platelets, the RP S19 multimeric complex is released outside the cell, and maturation from erythroblasts and megakaryocytes to the red blood cells and platelets occurs by the action on C5a receptors of the erythroblasts and megakaryocytes. Specifically disclosed is a screening method for substances having an accelerating action on maturation to hemocytes targeting the RP S19 multimeric complex and C5a receptors that is based on this knowledge. This screening method can detect maturation to hemocytes with R4 RGS family amplification as an indicator. Also disclosed is a maturation accelerator for hemocytes having the RP S19 multimeric complex and substance with accelerating action on maturation to hemocytes as useful components. Also disclosed is a method for producing red blood cells and platelets that includes a process for bringing the RP S19 multimeric complex and substance with accelerating action on maturation to hemocytes into contact with erythroblasts and megakaryocytes.
