Disclosed are a security system for a location-based service and a method for the same. The security system for a location-based service comprises: a terminal location determination module which identifies the IP address of a service terminal and identifies the location of the service terminal that corresponds to the identified IP address, on the basis of individual IP address location information, when the service terminal makes a specific preset service request to a web server provider; a user location determination module, which determines the location of the rightful user corresponding to the service request; and a control module, which compares the first location as determined by the terminal location module and the second location as determined by the user location determination module, and controls whether or not the service that corresponds to the requested service request is used, on the basis of the results of the comparison.
