<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search device capable of reducing processing time required for an information search and an image processing system having the same. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading part 22 reads documents such as business cards or manuscripts and outputs image data. When an image is changed to a row of character code by an OCR part 15, a language selection part 14 selects to which language's raw of character code it should be changed. The OCR part 15 changes the image read by the image reading part 22 to the row of character code.
