The present invention relates to a novel family of peptides of which the C-terminal part corresponds to the sequence LVLQTM (SEQ ID No°9), and also the chemical derivatives of such peptides, with the exception of the RBM6 delta 6 protein, and also the RBM6 delta 6 protein, for the protease-inhibiting activity thereof. They can in particular be used for the therapeutic or prophylactic treatment of an infection with an enterovirus and in particular human rhinovirus such as RVH-2, or else in the diagnostic field for detecting the 2A and 3C proteases.
