The method involves creating a text message in a mobile radio unit by a user of a mobile radio terminal (1). A wildcard character (10) is inserted into text of the created message, where the character is inserted at a point in which the message is to be personalized. A receiver is selected from a memory area e.g. subscriber identification module (SIM) phone book (4) and mobile device memory area (5), of the terminal to send the created message. Personal information (11) stored to the receiver is inserted into the message in a location of the character for personalizing the message. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for sending a generated personalized text message (2) a subscriber identification module comprising a mobile radio terminal.
