The assembly has a drive motor (1) provided with a vertically aligned drive shaft (5) that is coupled with a horizontally aligned driven shaft (6) of a running wheel (3) of a fork-lift truck over an angle gear box. The angle gear box includes an intermediate gear (7), which is connected with a driving wheel (8) of the vertically aligned drive shaft and an output wheel (9) of the horizontally aligned driven shaft. A bevel gear is provided as an angle gear, and the intermediate gear is designed as spur gears. The driving wheel and the output wheel are formed as a crown wheel.
