<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card reader/writer shutter mechanism with which the false insertion or unauthorized removal of a card can be surely prevented with a simple mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: A shutter plate 10 is integrally provided with a flap 10a blocking a card insertion port 2 at one end and a protrusion 10b pushing up a card 3 received at the other end and is supported by a supporting axis 10c such that it can incline in a seesaw manner. The outer side surface of the flap 10a of the shutter plate 10 is formed as a tapered surface T1 gradually enlarging in the blocking direction of the shutter plate 10.
