A method for providing marketing information, such as a coupon, an advert, or a link to a website, on an electronic communication mean (ECM), e.g. a smartphone, where pop-up interface software (PUIS) produces and saves in the ECM the marketing information upon identifying a phrase in an ECM communication, e.g. an instant messaging or voice conversation, wherein the phrases are downloaded to the ECM from a database storing mn records of pn phrases and associated marketing data relating to n retail stores and services where n, mn, and pn are any integer larger than zero.
