PURPOSE: A cutting wire, where diamond particle attaches, and a method for coating diamond particles on a wire are provided to prevent the separation of diamond particles from the wire in a cutting process by performing a coating process in a nickel electrolytic cell. CONSTITUTION: A cutting wire comprises a wire(10), a brass layer(11), a nickel layer(12), a diamond powder particle(20) and an ultrasonic generator. The brass layer coats brass on the surface of the wire in uniform thickness. The nickel layer coats the nickel in the exterior of the brass layer in uniform thickness. The diamond powder particle is sparsely attached to entire surface of the brass layer surface. The wire passes through the middle part of the nickel electrolytic cell. The diamond powder particle is evenly attached to the cylindrical wire. The nickel electrolytic cell throws in the diamond powder particle. The ultrasonic generator is installed on the floor side of the nickel electrolytic cell.
