PURPOSE: A load measuring system and method for a railway vehicle are provided to measure the load of a railway vehicle in real time from information transmitted from sensors and measuring instruments installed in the railway vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A load measuring method for a railway vehicle is as follows. The speed and acceleration of a railway vehicle are measured(S10). The current position of the railway vehicle is measured(S20). The driving force and braking power of the railway vehicle are received(S30). The current state of a rail is obtained from rail gradient information, rail curve information, and weather information(S40). The load of the railway vehicle is calculated based on the speed and acceleration and the current position of the railway vehicle and the rail state information(S50).
