The method involves providing a linear equations system (110) based on parameterized description of sub-tasks of a task, parameterized description of a pre-defined processor architecture and boundary conditions. Allocation of the sub-tasks to a computing unit of the pre-defined processor architecture is determined (120) based on the linear system of equations, so that the boundary conditions are fulfilled. The linear equations system is determined by a coefficient matrix, a resultant vector and a boundary condition vector, where the linear equations system comprises an equation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for allocating a number of sub-tasks from a task to a number of computing units in a pre-defined processor architecture (2) a computer program comprising a program code to perform a method for allocating a number of sub-tasks from a task to a number of computing units in a pre-defined processor architecture.
