The folding apparatus for folding a continuous web in two along a folding line extending in a conveyance direction MD of the web by bringing one side edge of the web, toward an opposite side edge thereof, includes a large-diameter roller configured to press a reference region extending from the folding line to the opposite side edge, a folding guide bar configured to support the web at the folding line and a guide mechanism configured to guide a folded region toward the reference region, the folded region extending from the folding line to the one side edge. The folding guide bar includes a slide portion configured to allow the web to slide thereon. The slide portion has a friction coefficient of not more than 0.4. |
