The electro-active polymer (7) is activated to oscillate such that an active vibration absorber (6) is realized. The vibration absorber has a damping body that forms a counter vibrating mass and a damping spring, where the damping spring is formed in section by the electro-active polymer. A resonant frequency of the vibration absorber is adjusted on the basis of electrical voltage applied at the electro-active polymer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a vibration absorber, particularly a passive or an active vibration absorber, for damping a vibrating system of a motor vehicle; and (2) an exhaust gas system for an internal combustion engine, particularly of a motor vehicle. |
