A method of providing data communication to a first device which is a moving object such as a vehicle. The method comprises establishing a plurality of connections, each connection being between a first device and one of a plurality of second devices. A plurality of virtual connections are established, each virtual connection being between the first device and one of a plurality of third devices through one of the second devices. One or more of the virtual connections is selected based upon data indicating characteristics of the virtual connections. The invention is applicable to providing data communications to users in public transport, buses, trains or other vehicles whilst on the move, whilst making efficient use of resources. |
