摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the S/N of a pixel signal while suppressing a decline in visual color resolution even if an object to be imaged has a low brightness, to enhance the image quality and sensitivity by improving the sensitivity balance of photoelectric conversion sections of individual hues, and to freely select what is more important, color resolution or S/N, according to the imaging conditions, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging device comprises a G photosensitive layer 17 which absorbs the light of a green wavelength region and generates signal charge; a B photosensitive layer 19 and an R photosensitive layer 21 which mainly absorb the light of a wavelength region different from the green wavelength region and generate signal charge; and a pixel signal generator which generates a pixel signal according to the signal charges from the G photosensitive layer 17, B photosensitive layer 19, and R photosensitive layer 21. With respect to one pixel of the G photosensitive layer 17, the pixel signal generator generates a pixel signal for the position of the one pixel based on a value (combined value) obtained by processing signal charge of the B photosensitive layer 19 at the position corresponding to the one pixel, signal charge of the R photosensitive layer 21 at the position corresponding to the one pixel, and signal charges of peripheral pixels adjacent to the corresponding pixels of the B photosensitive layer 19 and R photosensitive layer 21 and a value corresponding to the signal charge of the one pixel of the G photosensitive layer 17. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
