[Also in Group XII] In a gas turbine plant, a gas producer plant (see Group XII) comprises, in combination with producer chambers 1, 2 in which combustible gas is produced by the partial burning of solid fuel, a constantly renewed filter bed 3. Heated compressed air and powdered fuel are injected into producer 1 and the combustible gas passes through producer 2, which is idle, and a turbine 20. The gas is burnt with heated compressed air in chamber 15 and the products of combustion pass as working fluid to turbines 17, 18 which drive a compressor 16 and the load and then to exhaust through a heat exchanger 19. The air used in the producer chambers 1, 2 and the combustion chamber 15 is compressed at 16 and heated at 19, the producer air then passes through a super-charging compressor driven by turbine 20. Specifications 684,028 and 684,241, [both in Group XII], are referred to.</p> |
