[Class 20(iii)] For holding a sash 9 in alignment with the guideway formed by frame member 6 and side strips 7, a bowed metal strip S is inserted in a groove 14 in the sash side member and has an end portion 16 with laterally extending legs 17, for securing to the edge face of the sash on each side of the groove. An adjusting screw 24 passing through holes in the bowed part of the strip engages a threaded hole in its flange 32 so that by turning the screw which is accessible from above the groove the curvature may be varied. The strip may be located in the upper right hand corner of the sash diametrically opposite the point of connection of counterbalancing means. |
