An alloy for accumulator grids consists of lead, tin, and selenium containing from 4.75 to 5.75 per cent of tin and from 0.05 to 0.1 per cent of selenium. In an example the alloy contains 94.925 per cent lead, 5 per cent tin, and 0.075 per cent selenium. In making the alloy the tin and selenium are first alloyed together and the mixture then added to the lead. |
