A contact trip disabling device for a power nailer, comprising: a housing (101); a contact trip assembly (38) movably mounted relative to said housing for enabling and disabling activation of the power nailer; and a disabling mechanism (106) movable from a disabling position for disabling said contact trip assembly from enabling activation of the power nailer and an enabling position for enabling said contact trip assembly to activate the power nailer.
