The device (1) has a slide (3) fixed with a structure of a vehicle. A pad (5) slides in or on the slide, and is connected to a windscreen wiper mechanism. A blocking unit (7) i.e. ankle, blocks the sliding of the pad with respect to the slide. Length of the pad is smaller than that of the slide, where the slide includes a U-shaped section. The pad includes a T-shaped section whose flat surface (35) is dimensioned so as to be inserted in the slide. The pad includes a foot (37) connected to the windscreen wiper mechanism. An independent claim is also included for a method for fixing a windscreen wiper mechanism on a structure of a vehicle.
