METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING REGION OF INTEREST IN ULTRASOUND DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for determining a region of interest in ultrasound data.

SOLUTION: The method and system is provided for determining the region of the interest in the ultrasound data. One method (30) includes steps (32) of defining an ROI within an acquired ultrasound data set and identifying a plurality of different image planes within the acquired ultrasound data set. The method further includes: a step (34) of determining a significant edge from at least one border of the ROI based on the plurality of image planes; and a step (46) of adjusting the ROI based on the determined significant edge.
