<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timepiece and its method that solve the following problems: if all of 24 or more satellites are searched, reception and processing time for GPS signals becomes long and a large amount of power is consumed; and if satellite health information is not received, there is a possibility that a GPS time obtained from a satellite under maintenance inspection is largely shifted and therefore if it is directly reflected on an RTC time, an incorrect time will continue to be displayed until the next time a GPS signal is received. <P>SOLUTION: By giving candidate GPS satellites from which to receive signals an order of priority based on the magnitude of the signal intensity of the GPS satellites, an optimum satellite can be selected quickly, and if a GPS time is largely shifted, more reliable and accurate time correction can be made by checking with two or more GPS satellites. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
