<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to reduce the quantity of incident light that reaches a circuit element in a reflective liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: A first insulation layer 113 is formed on a first metal layer 112 which is electrically connected to a circuit element and is patterned so that it has openings 127 and a first through-hole 126. After metal portions 114 embedded in the openings 127 and a first plug 115 embedded in the first through-hole are formed in the first insulation layer, a second insulation layer 116 is formed. A second metal layer 117 is formed on the second insulation layer 116 and is patterned so that it has openings. A third insulation layer 119 is formed on the second metal layer and then a second through-hole 120 which passes through the opening of the second metal layer 117 and exposes an upper surface of the first plug 115 is formed in the second insulation layer 116 and the third insulation layer 119.
