<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a display device. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is provided with multiple light sources, a switching part which selects a mode of permission for activation of the multiple light sources, and a control part that regulates the switching part. The light sources are set to activate in turns.
