<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vascular endothelial cell protecting agent which includes elastin peptide extracted from bulbus arteriosus of fishes as an effective component, and a pharmaceutical composition, food, feed and a cosmetic product containing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The vascular endothelial cell protecting agent contains, as an effective component, one or more kinds of peptides obtained by hydrolyzing polypeptide chain in insoluble protein mainly composed of elastin which is obtained by removing lipid, soluble protein and collagen from bulbus arteriosus of fishes. The total of glycine, alanine, valine and proline contents per 1,000 residues is 650 residues or more; the total of aspartic acid and asparagine contents is 10-35 residues; the total of glutamic acid and glutamine contents is 20-50 residues; the total of lysine, histidine and arginine contents is 20-50 residues; the total of desmosine and isodesmosine contents is 0.3 residue or more; and the hydroxyproline content is 10 residues or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
