<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing a column that enables the replacement work of a column to be performed efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: An existing column 1 erected on an installation surface G is cut off at the installation surface G, and a lower part 41 of a new column 4 with a smaller-diameter than a bore of the existing column 1 is inserted in a remainder 11 of the existing column 1 left in the installation surface G to form the new column 4.
