SHUTTER SPECTACLES AND DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel transmission method and apparatus for a synchronization signal that can prevent malfunction of shutter opening and closing of shutter spectacles even when the synchronization signal transmitted from a display device is affected by interference caused by an electromagnetic wave of another home electric appliance etc.

SOLUTION: The display device includes: a video signal processing unit which processes a predetermined stereoscopic video signal so that it is displayed by a display unit; a communication unit which communicates with the shutter spectacles; and a synchronization signal generation unit which generates the synchronization signal so that shutters of the shutter spectacles are opened and closed corresponding to the stereoscopic video signal. The generated synchronization signal includes error correction information with which an error inducing malfunction of the shutter spectacles can be corrected. The synchronization signal generation unit transmits the synchronization signal including the generated error correction information to the shutter spectacles via the communication unit.
