<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup system which allows a backup power source to be electrically disconnected only in an inspection process. <P>SOLUTION: A backup system 10 is provided at a handheld terminal and includes a semiconductor switch SW3 and an AND circuit 14. The semiconductor switch SW3 switches between a primary mode, in which a battery 12 and a backup power source 13 are connected in parallel with a power supplied portion 11, and a secondary mode in which the backup battery 13 is electrically disconnected from the power supplied portion 11 and the battery 12. The AND circuit 14 controls the semiconductor switch SW3 so as to turn on the primary mode in at least one of the following states: a battery lid 15 is inserted into a battery case 16 and the electric power is not supplied from a host device to the handheld terminal via a USB cable. Also, the AND circuit 14 controls the semiconductor switch SW3 so as to turn on the secondary mode when the battery lid 15 is removed from the battery case 16 and the electric power is supplied from the host device to the handheld terminal via the USB cable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
