<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a gas generator by which the molding and filling of a solid gas generating agent and the assembly of the gas generator are carried out in parallel and the molding and filling of the solid gas generating agent having a desired shape and dimension is facilitated. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the gas generator comprises: a step of fixing a diffuser shell 3 with the top plate 14 down and the opening part up and after that, placing a molding die comprising a low melting point (T1) thermoplastic resin and for molding the solid gas generating agent into a filter in the diffuser shell and fixing the molding die; a step of drying a slurry-like gas generating agent (thermal decomposition temperature T2) at a temperature lower than the melting point (T1) (T2>T1) after the slurry-like gas generating agent is filled into the molding die; a step of melting the molding die at a temperature higher than the melting point (T1) and lower than the thermal decomposition temperature (T2) without thermally decomposing the gas generating agent and storing and holding the molten resin; and a step of combining the diffuser shell with a closure shell having an ignition means attached thereto, after the held resin is solidified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
