PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of polyamide-imide which can produce the polyamide-imide in a short time and can reduce production cost, and to provide an insulated electric wire which can reduce manufacturing cost by having a resin layer formed by using the polyamide-imide.

SOLUTION: In the production method of the polyamide-imide, an isocyanate component containing aromatic diisocyanate and an acid component containing trimellitic acid anhydride are made to react with each other, and the isocyanate component, the acid component and a solvent are mixed and made to react with one another by irradiating micro waves thereto.
