<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for control of ignition timing for an internal combustion engine, capable of favorably suppressing an incorrect retarded angle of ignition timing caused by engine vibration due to the oscillating motion of a piston. <P>SOLUTION: This device determines the presence of occurrence of knocking through comparison of the intensity of engine vibration detected by a knocking sensor with a knocking determination level, and updates a knocking leaning value according to a determination result thereof. Required ignition timing is set on the basis of the knocking learning value. An integrated value ΣGA of an intake air amount GA after start of activation of the internal combustion engine is calculated (S202). If the integrate value ΣGA is below a determination value VGA (S203: NO), the update of the knocking learning value is prohibited (S204).
