<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a run-flat tire which improves durability of the tire and ride quality in normal traveling without loss of durability in run-flat traveling. <P>SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire has a carcass 4 comprising one or more carcass ply formed by covering cellulose fiber cords with a coating rubber. Each cellulose fiber cord has an elastic modulus of 40 cN/dtex or more at 180°C under a stress of 29.4 N per one cord. The carcass ply 4 is folded back from the inside to the outside around bead cores 5 embedded in the bead sections 3.
