<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance in packet detection on a reception side of an OFDM signal and in synchronization processing with a symbol by reducing power consumption without increasing a circuit scale. <P>SOLUTION: In a stage of a processing of a synchronization processing portion 17 before an equalization processing is performed by an equalizer 14, a propagation characteristic estimating portion 18 obtains a characteristic when a packet is received before. A pattern signal correcting portion 20 corrects a training pattern signal which is used in a synchronization processing and is previously decided by using the propagation characteristic used for the equalization processing to absorb fluctuation of the propagation characteristic. In the stage of the synchronization processing, effect equal to the equalization processing of the reception signal is obtained, and the performance of the synchronization processing is improved to improve effective transmission performance as a result. The pattern signal correcting portion 20 is started only when the propagation characteristic is obtained to perform a correction processing without newly adding a circuit.
